Ask any business owner what is the most daunting task of running a business. There’s a good chance they’ll tell you that employee people is difficult. Why? Because they aren’t just looking for skills. A skills audit would be easy. People can learn new skills. The most important quality of a prospective employee is attitude and goals. Just like you as a business owner. Would you have got where you are today with skills along? No. Your attitude and goals made it happen. Your vision, motivation and determination. That is what you should be looking for in your employees.
Photoshop or Fireworks for graphic design. I just can’t decide. I used Photoshop for years and got used to that and then I had I look at Fireworks a few of years ago when I was doing my HND Computing round about the time when Macromedia MX was out. I used Fireworks for a few years and now I’m hooked on the latest version of Photoshop. I currently have both installed and actually sometimes load one instead of the other without realising which one I’m using. If you asked me which one I last used I couldn’t tell you. Anyway I like them both so I just can’t decide. Now that they are both Adobe aren’t they becoming more and more similar to each other anyway.
Professional web design isn’t easy. It involves information architecture, graphic design, usability knowledge, accessible and being up to date with internet and disability laws. So why are some so web design companies selling web design companies cheap then? I do mean cheap not affordable. This is because they are just being signed off based upon asthetics alone. When the Client states a low budget, one which is too low for professional web design, too many web design companies cut down the project’s functional requirements to just a “good looking web design”. There’s nothing professional about that.
