Website Usability Testing

So you’ve had a website designed for your business and it is generating a fair amount of traffic. The problem is that you aren’t converting as many visitors as you expected. Maybe it’s time to look a Website Usability Testing. What is it? Website Usability Testing allows you to see how users are really using your website. This is accomplished by gathering a group of website users and observing whilst they browse, navigate and generally try to use your website for the purposes that it was initially intended. Little or no facilitation is provided by the observers in an effort to make the results as realistic as possible.

Website Usability Testing in the above scenario is obviously very expensive. An alternative, but arguably less effective, form of Website Usability Testing can be carried out manually by an Usability Expert. This involves the Usability Expert providing a thorough review of his opinion of the website’s usability based upon knowledge and experience of how a website should operate.
