So is getting on Google’s first page for a targeted keyphrase really that important? The answer is yes. Because A your clickthroughs will be higher and B you will increase the likelyhood of entering the searcher’s Consideration Set (the set of websites that by prospect will then choose to purchase a product or service from).

Let’s devise a simple equation:
Google first page + Engaging and usable website = improved likelihood of joinining a searcher’s Consideration Set

Obviously the above is simplified and other factors are involved such as search term or keyphrase relevancy in terms of geographical location.

Google is the most common search engine that your prospects will use to search for products or services like yours.
